FOOTBALL WITH THE PROS

SCL International College's Football Academy provides students with the opportunity to develop their football ability whilst improving their English language proficiency.

The course is run in partnership with Watford FC Trust whose mission is to make a positive difference for all through sport, physical activity and learning.

Delivered by qualified teachers with a passion for football, this course draws on interactive technology in the classroom and physically active gameplay on the pitch to make the learning a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Students will improve communication and language skills in class while studying the world of football.

Football training sessions are led by fully qualified coaches who will reinforce those skills and focus on areas such as team play, 1v1 practices, and the development of individual skills and techniques. Friday sessions round off the week with a tournament between the students.

Football in the Community is launched, now known as the Watford FC Trust.

COURSE DETAILS

Minimum level: CEFR A1

Start dates: July 16th - 29th 2023

Class size: 15 students maximum

Daytime: Football themed English classes combined with football coaching and practice

Evening: Organised social events programme included free of charge

Location: School Campus & Watford FC Trust training centres

Student profile: This is the perfect course for students who are passionate about football and want to "up their game" by learning techniques from the pros, receiving personal coaching, and practicing with fellow football lovers from all over the world.

Students will be trained by Watford coaches during all practical football sessions and tournaments.
Football training sessions take place on modern 3G artificial pitches.
Students, boys and girls, will be grouped according to ages and ability ranging from ages 12 to 17.

The Community Sports and Education Trust is the official charity arm of Premier League club Watford FC, and is an official registered charity (Charity No: 1102239). The Trust has been engaging with communities through sport, physical activity and learning for 28 years and have won 12 national awards for their community engagement.
