Today, we're excited to bring you a captivating guest post from Nesibe, a 24-year old former international student from Türkiye. She'll take us on a journey through her experience as an English language learner at SCL International College in London, where she spent five memorable months.

As soon as I graduated from university back home, I went to London. These days, I'm studying for the IELTS exam in my country, because I want to apply at a UK university and pursue my career in digital marketing.
You may ask, "Why London?" Good question! Let me explain: London is a cosmopolitan city, so you can learn about different cultures and improve your social networks by meeting thousands of international students. Assimilating into their lifestyle and culture makes it easier for you to grasp English. On top of that, you can receive an education from experienced teachers whose native language is English.
“English is a global language. Wherever you go, only one language will be enough. This is English.”
Starting from kindergarten and throughout the school years, we have been getting English lessons back home. However, in my opinion, that's not enough, because instead of memorising, we need to be exposed to the language.
So I decided to travel to London for three months over the summer and while there, my English was improving significantly. Naturally, I wanted to keep improving and decided to extend my stay for a total of 5 months.
The lessons were never boring. You can learn while having fun with games and competitions. In my experience this way is the best way to learn a foreign language.
SCL International College has an all-inclusive experience with accommodation, English lessons, excursions, catering and social activities. I loved my routine on campus. It felt like home. The campus has a social area on the same floor as the classes so that you can hang out with your friends during breaks or after lessons.
The decoration on campus is impressive. Every place is colourful and cool. Also, your student accommodation and your English lessons are in the same building, so you can easily go to your class in the morning.
I was nervous before I went to London because it was my first time travelling abroad alone, and I was worried about my English. However, as time passed, I got used to living abroad and had unforgettable experiences.
Now I have a lot of foreign friends from different countries and even though I am back home, I still keep in touch with them.
Travelling abroad was a big opportunity for me to broaden my horizons. While I was in London, I decided to apply for a master's degree in digital marketing, so I'm coming back. This excites me. I'm over the moon!
Overall, this city and campus means a lot to me. I would like to thank the entire SCL team for everything.
