SCL International College follows the latest UK Government guidelines so we continue to deliver outstanding residential English language programmes and provide the highest standards of health and safety to our students. Our COVID-19 procedure outlines all necessary steps our trained staff take to keep our students and staff safe. We have a detailed procedure on how to handle situations when notifiable infectious diseases such as COVID-19 occur on our school premises.

Here are the main measures we have in place and encourage our students to follow:

• Thorough social distancing measures.
• Compulsory to scan a QR code of NHS Track and Trace App (no longer used as of Spring 2023) within our residences (age 16+).
• An enhanced cleaning schedule throughout the school.
• Encouraging students to wash their hands frequently.
• One-way traffic flow system in place to ensure smooth movement around the buildings.
• Protective screens at our front desks.
• Face masks and disposable gloves available at the front desks.
• Hand sanitising stations in all classrooms.
• Updated school policies in response to COVID-19.
• All staff fully trained on the latest COVID-19 procedures.
• Paperless lessons.

• We use emails, instant messaging services and video calls as the main communication channels whilst our students self-isolate.
• We provide information on how to have food delivered to students’ doors and we provide pastoral care throughout students’ self-isolation period.
• At SCL International College, our students benefit from en-suite accommodation with their own kitchen facilities and bathroom.
• Our staff organises rubbish and laundry collection at pre-selected times.

Our students can travel around the UK. We advise our students to travel responsibly and plan their journey far ahead, yet remain flexible for any last minute changes that may occur.

Many students want to travel for weekend trips to Europe. We highly recommend familiarising yourself with the latest government guidelines and travel restrictions in the country of travel to avoid self-isolation upon return to the UK.

We have revised our cancellation policy to allow greater flexibility and to ensure you can book with confidence. Our revised policy means that booking with us is risk-free. The policy includes guidance for all students who have to cancel their studies due to COVID-19 restrictions.

In the event of a sudden school closure due to COVID-19 regulations, we reserve the right to deliver the programmes online.
